Terms of Use

The rules of the road.

FileShoot is a free, no-account service for handing off a single file to a single recipient. By uploading anything, you accept the terms below. They're written in plain English on purpose — if anything is unclear, write to support@fileshoot.com before you upload.

What the service is

FileShoot accepts a file you upload, generates a single-use share link, and delivers that file to whoever opens the link first — provided their network is on our approved list. The file is removed from the server after the first successful download, or after 30 days if no download happens, whichever comes first. There is no signup, no account, no recovery of removed files.

What you may not upload

You agree not to use FileShoot to upload, store, or share content that:

You also agree not to use the service to relay traffic for an automated system — uploads are intended for human-to-human file transfer, not as backend storage for an application.

Our right to remove and report

We may remove any file at any time, with or without notice, if we have reason to believe it violates these terms — including in response to a credible report from a third party or law enforcement. If we identify content that we reasonably believe to be illegal, we are required by applicable law to preserve it and report it to the relevant authorities, and we will do so without warning the uploader.

Copyright (DMCA-style takedown)

If you believe a file shared through FileShoot infringes your copyright, write to support@fileshoot.com with:

We remove flagged content within one business day of a valid complaint.

Availability and warranty

FileShoot is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your file will arrive at its destination. We may suspend, modify, or discontinue the service at any time without prior notice. We strongly recommend you keep your own copy of any file you upload until you've confirmed your recipient received it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FileShoot and its operator are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the service — including loss of data, revenue, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Your sole remedy if you are dissatisfied is to stop using the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought before the state or federal courts located in New Castle County, Delaware.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. The current version is always reachable at /terms; please check back periodically.
